MONTREAL WORLD FILM FESTIVAL 2016-
by Bernard Bujold-
The MONTREAL WORLD FILM FESTIVAL 2016 will be less "festive" than in the past years but such is life.
I have experienced beautiful moments at the FFM and wonderful encounters with Depardieu (Gerard and Julie) and of course Isabelle Adjani. I also experienced the thrills when David Novek was in charge of the media!
The 2016 edition exists, but in a reduced manner... There is a competition of cinema, films in competition and spectators; and for that reason, Serge Losique will be able to say that there was a FFM 2016 and maintain its official world accreditation for Canada.
I wrote earlier this week: Serge Losique is a very smart man and he knows that he has a master card in his game! This card is the official accreditation by the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF FILM PRODUCERS ASSOCIATIONS (FIAPF). This association is the one that officially recognizes the film festivals around the world and there are two festivals recognized in Canada: Toronto and Montreal.
In 2008, local organizers in Montreal with Alain Simard in charge had tried to present an new event that would replace the FFM. Their failure and death, following a single first edition is due in large part to the lack of this official accreditation. Local baffles surrounding a festival does not influence the FIAPF in its accreditations.
Serge Losique understood the situation! Many have tried to convince Losique to sell its acquired right, but he always refused. Therefore, even if the FFM 2016 will be of small scale, since the event takes place, the certification is still valid!
In my book, Quebecor should try to seduce Serge Losique. The World Film Festival of Montreal would be a great event in the circle of Quebecor with MEL'S GLOBL VISION.
But one conclusion is sure for now and it is that the FFM is far from dead...
TO BE CONTINUED.

While we are at least three months (83 days) from the US elections, what are the chances of Donald Trump to defeat his opponent Hillary Clinton?
If the political machine of the Democratic Party is perfectly aligned, one element remains unpredictable and it is the candidate Hillary Clinton. FBI folders that are revealed day after day about alleged illegal activities or his health following an accident that she suffered following a fall on the head in December 2012.
In politics, a victory is never acquired before the final counting of the vote.
The perfect example is Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister. Throughout the election campaign in October 2015, Justin trailed in the polls and no media pronounced him the potential winner. Some journalists were even betting that he would be replaced as leader after the election...
We know the result when he won a majority with 184 MPs on a total of 338.
I projected a number of 180 for Justin...
I am also projecting a victory of Donald Trump during the next US election on November 8.
In fact, it will be Hillary Clinton who will lose because of the reasons mentioned above, as well as here in Canada the victory of Justin was actually a defeat by Thomas Mulcair and Stephen Harper. Justin Trudeau won because of the self-elimination of his opponents by themselves as, I believe, will do Donald Trump against Hillary.
To be continued...

Rene Angelil always said that one must let the star come last to the show after a good warm up of the crowd.
Justin Trudeau has proved that sometimes it is better to start the parade ...
The annual parade of the 2016 Montreal Pride had to gather several politicians and display demonstrations by whole community but in reality there were two parades: the one by Justin and the other...
So much that the police had early on to change the game plan and to create an square insulating Justin and placing the other politicians in front or behind the square. This is called "frame the star" (to box the target) "
Needless to the other politicians who wanted to compete Justin; he was "THE STAR"! Personally, the only other star that I remember attracting the crowds like that is Celine Dion. You should have heard the crowd (about 300,000) on the sides of the Boulevard René Lévesque (from St-Mathieu to Hôtel-de-ville) yelling "JUSTIN" and to mention that they thought him handsome and that they loved him...
Even CELINE would not have been more popular...

I just finished reading the novel by Laurent Gaudé: THE HOUSE OF SCORTA.
A french novel published in 2004 (Prix Goncourt) but I had not read it before...
I would say that this is one of the best books I have ever read in life, at least as to its depth look at human life.
The history of this little novel lies in a family of Southern Italy and makes us understand the deeper meaning of life, its successes, its failures and its conclusion, death.
If there is one conclusion is that the olives are eternal...

I have to admit obviously, that I'm not very good in my tennis predictions...
After wrongly dreaming that Genie Bouchard will win the Rogers championship in 2016, I decided to become a fan of the beautiful Russian player (cousin perhaps of Putin) Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Unfortunately, for me, Anastasia was eliminated Friday night by the American Madison Keys (probably a fan of Hillary).
So, I accepted then that the new star of Rogers Cup Montreal 2016 seemed to be Kristina Kucova (the one who beat Genie). The Montreal fans had also literally adopted her and they considered her their new idol! Many experts even predicted that Kucova could win Sunday (July 31, 2016) the final of the Rogers tournament.
But Keys eliminated Kucova on Saturday night quick as a wink.
As for Genie, I was told that she left for a weekend bike ride, but alone...
As for me? I am leaving the world of tennis and I am returning to politics and to my idol and United States Presidential candidate: Donald Trump!

Genie Bouchard could not defeat her opponent Kristina Kucova and she was eliminated from the Rogers Cup 2016 (6-3,4-6 and 3-6 and / Thursday, July 28, 2016)
Notice to bikers who would like to invite Genie to a bicycle ride!
She gets angry easily...
